I was there for drinks and fries with my children. Got a great table at the terrace, the service was a new one, but did everything right and let us have a great day.

Silbermühle Wald Hotel What a great spot this is, tucked away in the woods at the foot of the Teutoburger forest. The stunning, working water mill is a key feature, as is the mill pond. We have been visiting this restaurant for over 40 years, and it has never disappointed. You get old fashioned supervised service with a smile. The choice of food is excellent, but you have to choose your menu by 4 pm on the afternoon to ensure your table booking. The restaurant stocks beer from the local brewery Straate, with its famous Detmolder Pils and now has a complete range of Straate beers to offer. I chose duck breast for my main course served on a bed of oranges; it was a delightful meal. The ambience, food and service were excellent and made for a great evening with our friends. Well worth a visit. Top Tip: have 2 x 2 Euro coins available – there is a barrier as you drive through the woods.

We had a lovely stay after a long hike. Staff are very welcoming and hospitable. The room was more than we expected and very spacious. I look forward to staying again soon.

Very nice location! Stunning seating area around the lake that has quite huge fish in it. The service was excellent and more than just friendly, we even got a pice of cake on the house. No cellphone service though but than again put down the phone and enjoy the location.

I love this place. It is very clean and quiet. The decor was history in it self. You can you hiking, and bring your bikes. The trails are challenging. The food was really good. Loved their apple cake. Everyone was very friendly, and the hotel has a playground for the children. The area has various museums to see and be entertained. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place to be at.
